Becoming ... An Account Executive

What career options are available in HVAC industry? How do I become an HVAC Account Executive? How can I get involved in ASHRAE and excel in your career? Badri is Commercial Market Account Executive at Johnson Controls focusing on mid-market HVAC new construction and retrofit solutions in Toronto, and he will tell his story on January 18th.

Earlier, he was a Product Specialist enhancing the end-to-end customer experience across Canada and the US, promoting sustainability and energy efficiency through Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) Systems that help GHG reduction while providing thermal comfort in the built environment. Prior to joining Johnson Controls, Badri managed the Sales and Installation portfolio as Deputy Manager for Applied Equipment at Blue Star Limited, India, where he developed the business across various vertical segments. Before Blue Star, he gained strong experience in project management from pre-design to post-occupancy for applications in clean spaces while leading design-build and retrofit projects at Suvidha Engineers India Pvt. Ltd.

Badri is ASHRAE Member, serves on the ASHRAE Standing Committee – Certification Committee, Technical Committee 8.7 Variable Refrigerant Flow and ASHRAE Toronto Chapter Board of Governors. He has been recognized with Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) Award of Individual Excellence and Developing Leader Award by ASHRAE YEA Committee and Outstanding Efforts Awards by ASHRAE Toronto Chapter. He was featured on The NEWS’ Top 40 under 40 List for 2021 HVACR Professionals.

Badri studied Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology at Birla Institute of Science and Technology, India, is currently pursuing his license from Professional Engineers Ontario and holds WELL AP, LEED AP (BD+C), IGBC AP (Indian Green Building Council) and BEAP (Building Energy Assessment Professional) credentials.
