Becoming ... An Equity Based Program Manager

Webinar on May 17, 2022

How can I address poverty within the energy efficiency sector? What is unique about income-qualified programs? Do I need special skills to work on equity, diversity and inclusion? In May, we’ll be joined by Abraham Wairisal who will share his experiences working on equity-based programs at Ecofitt Corporation.

Abraham is a Natural Resources Canada experienced Registered Energy Advisor and Quality Assurance Specialist, and a CHBA Net Zero Energy Advisor. He is passionate about eradicating energy poverty, educating homeowners on energy efficiency upgrades in their homes and providing a clear, detailed retrofit scope of work for builders/renovators.

In his current role, Abraham is a Manager in Ecofitt Corporation in charge of delivering income eligible home efficiency programs (i.e. IESO’s Energy Affordability Program and Enbridge’s Home Winterproofing Program) in Ontario for Toronto and Northern Ontario regions. He is also managing and training Registered Energy Advisors across all of Canada for Ecofitt, including programs in British Columbia and in Newfoundland and Labrador. Last year, Abraham was in the Northwest Territories to train 5 energy advisors and will be heading to Newfoundland this summer to train energy advisors there.
