ASHRAE’s New Headquarters: Applying sustainable development principles in the Real World
Webinar on May 15, 2020ASHRAE is building its next global headquarters. The Society has acquired an existing 66,700 ft2 building, originally built in 1978, on 11 acres in Peachtree Corners, GA.
The building will be renovated to Zero Energy standards. Although new construction of Zero Energy buildings makes a lot of headlines, reuse of existing structures is a basic tenet of sustainability – the energy performance of existing buildings must be addressed to substantially impact the 40% of primary energy consumed by buildings. As a demonstration project, the renovation decisions and process are being documented in great detail and made available to the industry with total transparency.
Speakers:
- Darryl Boyce, President, ASHRAE
- Natalie Irwin, Director of Stakeholder Engagement, Efficiency Canada
