DiscoverEE Webinar: What Are We Doing About Energy Poverty?

June 5 @ 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm EDT
Nearly 2 million Canadian households experience energy poverty. While Canada lacks a national-level energy poverty strategy, policies and programs exist to help low-income households experiencing energy poverty. The Canada Greener Homes Affordability Program (CGHAP), announced in September 2025, is a federal initiative that aims to help Canadians cut energy bills, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve comfort. As provinces and territories prepare to roll out their CGHAP programming, we are taking a panoramic look across Canada’s energy poverty landscape. We will examine existing policies and programs, identify potential gaps, and explore solutions, drawing insights from international strategies already in place.
