SUMMARY:Carbon Footprint Accounting: Scope 3 GHG Emissions
DESCRIPTION:The industrial and commercial sectors are increasingly recognizing the importance of addressing their full carbon footprint\, not just what happens within their walls\, but across their entire value chains. Scope 3 emissions\, which include indirect upstream and downstream activities such as purchased goods\, business travel\, and product end-of-life impacts\, often represent the largest share of an organization’s climate impact. \nTo support professionals in developing the competencies needed to take action\, CIET is offering a one-day training on scope 3 emissions accounting. This course provides a practical introduction to identifying\, estimating\, quantifying\, and managing Scope 3 emissions in accordance with international standards and best practices. \nThis interactive training session will help participants understand the significance of Scope 3 emissions in decarbonization strategies\, navigate the GHG Protocol’s 15 categories of Scope 3 emissions\, and explore real-world examples of Scope 3 data collection and reduction planning. Participants will engage with short case studies and hands-on exercises to support knowledge retention and real-world application. This course supports organizations that are aiming to set science-based targets\, develop credible net-zero plans\, or respond to investor and regulatory expectations around full value chain emissions. \n\n\n\n\nWhat you will learn\n\n\n\nIdentify relevant Scope 3 emission categories based on organizational activities and boundaries.\nUnderstand best practices for estimating Scope 3 emissions when data is limited or uncertain.\nApply practical tools and methods to quantify and prioritize Scope 3 categories.\nInterpret Scope 3 results to identify opportunities for emission reductions.\nPrepare for Scope 3 reporting in alignment with the GHG Protocol and voluntary or regulatory frameworks (e.g.\, SBTi\, ISSB\, Canadian Net-Zero Challenge).\n\n\n\n\n\nThis course is ideal for\n\n\n\nSustainability\, climate\, or decarbonization professionals\nESG and corporate reporting leads\nConsultants working on carbon accounting and supply chain analysis\nEnergy and environment managers\nProcurement or supply chain professionals\nFinance or risk management professionals supporting ESG disclosure

SUMMARY:Energy Management Systems (EMS) and 50001 Ready Canada Webinar: 101
DESCRIPTION:This public webinar is intended to introduce the ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems standard\, the Ready Navigator tool\, and the 50001 Ready Canada recognition program. \nThe ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management System (EMS) standard facilitates integrating energy efficiency into management practices\, promoting awareness about energy use\, reinforcing good energy management behaviours\, and making better use of energy consuming assets and processes. NRCan launched the 50001 Ready Canada program and Ready Navigator tool to encourage leadership in the field and improve energy performance in Canada. The tool enables organizations to monitor their progress toward implementing the ISO 50001:2018 EMS standard. \nThis one-hour webinar provides an overview of the basics of establishing an effective energy management system within an organization. Participants gain insights into ISO 50001:2018 and the 50001 Ready recognition to enable them to understand their roles and contribute to the success of their organization. \nThe webinar showcases the features of Ready Navigator\, a free online tool\, while contextualizing the tasks needed to achieve the 50001 Ready Canada recognition and meet the requirements of the ISO 50001:2018 standard. \n\n\n\n\nWhat you will learn\n\n\n\nProperly implement energy management systems.\nUse the Ready Navigator tool.\nFacilitate your organization being recognized 50001 Ready Canada.\n\n\n\n\n\nThis webinar is ideal for\n\n\n\nEnergy/sustainability professionals\nOrganizational or program managers\nProject engineers\nService providers and consultants\nResource efficiency managers

SUMMARY:Safer Workplaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ Workers
DESCRIPTION:About this webinar\n\n\n\nPride is a time of celebration\, but for many 2SLGBTQIA+ employees\, workplace experiences do not always reflect that reality. Harassment\, violence and gaps in psychological safety remain persistent challenges across Canada’s energy and electricity sectors\, particularly in field‑based roles. \nIn this webinar\, EHRC and Pride at Work Canada will explore key findings from the Empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ Workers in Energy report and what they mean for employers. The session will examine how homophobia\, transphobia and microaggressions affect workers’ ability to speak up\, report concerns and feel safe on the job. \nFraming psychological safety as part of occupational health and safety\, the discussion will highlight practical actions organizations can take—from strengthening policies and supervisor responses to building reporting processes workers trust. Participants will also be introduced to tools and resources to support next steps. \n\n\n\n\nWhy attend?\nAfter this session\, you will be better equipped to: \n\n• Understand key insights on harassment\, violence and psychological safety affecting 2SLGBTQIA+ workers\n• Recognize how identity-based harm impacts safety\, reporting and retention\n• Strengthen workplace approaches\, including policies\, supervisor responses and reporting pathways\n• Take informed next steps using relevant tools and resources\n\n\n\nWho should attend?\nThis webinar is relevant for: \n\n• Employers and organizational leaders\n• HR\, DEI and employee relations professionals\n• Health and safety practitioners\n• Supervisors and managers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\n\nTing-Fai Yu\, PhD\n \n\nProgram Coordinator\, Energy\, Pride at Work Canada\nTing-Fai Yu\, PhD (he/him)\, coordinates the Empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ Workers in Energy project at Pride at Work Canada\, where he leads industry research on marginalized groups and translates findings into actionable strategies for safer\, more inclusive\, and more equitable workplaces. \n\n\n\n\n\nMuhammad Ahsan\n \n\nDiversity\, Equity and Inclusion Specialist\, EHRC\nMuhammad (he/him) is a Canadian Certified Inclusion Professional and a distinguished expert in organizational development\, recognized for his commitment to fostering inclusion\, diversity\, equity and accessibility. SUMMARY:From Opportunity to Scale: Transforming the Retrofit Market
DESCRIPTION:This interactive workshop brings together practitioners and program developers to identify and advance the most promising opportunities for scaling building retrofits across the country. Rather than focusing on barriers\, participants will explore where momentum already exists and where targeted interventions could unlock rapid\, system-wide change. Through collaborative mapping\, synthesis\, and design exercises\, the group will develop a set of high-impact “market-shaping opportunities” and align on a small number of actions that can accelerate the transition to retrofit as a mainstream\, scalable solution.  \nTogether\, we’ll: \n\nMap of high-leverage opportunities\nIdentify 3–5 catalytic plays with real momentum\nEstablish opportunities for ongoing collaborations to ensure ongoing coordination
