EVs in Rural and Remote Communities
Webinar on March 11, 2022Many rural and remote communities are interested in the role that electric vehicles (EVs) can play in reaching their decarbonization goals. The context of these communities differs from urban settings, however, where much of the discussion around EVs has focused to-date. Additional factors – including remoteness, isolated grids, and extreme cold conditions – can present unique considerations relevant to EV uptake and use.
For this study, Indigenous Clean Energy (ICE) requested that the Dunsky team provide insight and analysis to understand the challenges – and opportunities – of EVs in these communities.
Alongside general analysis relevant to EVs rural and remote contexts, the study includes case studies that highlight specific opportunities for several communities.
