City of Toronto Building Emissions Performance Standards: Public Town Hall #1

Online

Join us for a virtual town hall event to learn about the City of Toronto’s proposed building emissions performance standards (BEPS). Building emissions performance standards (BEPS) have been identified as one of the most impactful policies the City of Toronto can implement to reduce emissions from existing buildings. These standards aim to reduce overall emissions reductions while also supporting building owners with policies, programs and incentives, particularly for buildings that may face greater challenges to decarbonize. At the virtual townhall, you’ll have a chance to hear from City staff about what type of emissions will be covered by the bylaw including building type and size, what metrics will be used, additional support offered by the City and proposed compliance timelines. A survey will be launched on June 24 for participants to provide their feedback.
