Communities of Practice

A community of practice is a collective of individuals united by a common interest or enthusiasm for a particular activity or subject. Through regular interaction, members collaborate to enhance their skills and knowledge in pursuit of improving their shared endeavour.

Home Performance Pro Hub

The Home Performance Pro Hub is an online network designed for home performance energy advisors, HVAC contractors, insulators, building renovators, and other professionals in the sector. This platform fosters practitioner relationships, offers a collaborative learning space, and cultivates applied knowledge through a fully asynchronous model.

Key Features:

  • Members can access a wealth of resources and past webinar recordings through our online platform. This allows for flexible, on-demand learning tailored to individual schedules.
  • We will organize webinars, presentations, and community calls to bring members together in the same virtual room. These sessions are opportunities to dive deep into specific topics, learn from experts, and engage with peers. Some of these sessions may coincide with DiscoverEE events.
  • We aim to identify local superstars who are passionate about hosting local meet-ups. These meet-ups are designed to build stronger local connections within the sector, fostering a sense of community and collaboration on a more intimate scale.

Membership Details:

  • Membership is open to the home performance sector, broadly defined: which may include energy advisors, HVAC contractors, insulators, building renovators, and other relevant professionals.

Mandatory Building Performance Standards Knowledge Network

The Mandatory Building Performance Standards (MBPS) knowledge network brings together a diverse group of professionals, experts, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders to share knowledge, collaborate, and collectively advance their understanding of MBPS. Ultimately, the shared knowledge will help to improve energy efficiency, reduce GHG emissions, and promote sustainable operational practices in existing buildings through the adoption of MBPS in Canada.

By facilitating learning and the exchange of best practices, the group will:

  • identify and understand the prerequisites for MBPS and complementary policies;
  • explore the barriers hindering MBPS adoption and implementation and;
  • brainstorm strategies to overcome these obstacles.

Become a member

Membership is open to people from all sectors who are interested in MBPS or that shares similar interests, goals, and/or objectives. Meetings will take place quarterly and run for 90 minutes.
