August 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

Program overview

ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® 101 – Fundamentals and Basics is the first step toward understanding and structuring energy performance management for buildings.

This free session introduces the tool’s essential features, basic navigation, and key principles of data entry, laying a solid foundation for energy management in commercial and institutional buildings.

The ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®: 101 webinar is the first of three virtual workshops and offers a structured introduction to the tool to support effective and sustainable energy management.

What is ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®

ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager® is a management tool designed to measure and assess the energy performance of commercial and institutional buildings. Following widespread use in the United States, Natural Resources Canada adapted Portfolio Manager for use in Canada, where more than 26,000 buildings have been entered into the tool.

Over the years, Portfolio Manager has grown in popularity and usage because it allows users to understand energy consumption and associated costs (energy, water, and other resources), compare their buildings to similar properties, establish benchmarks, set realistic targets, and track the impact of reduction strategies through customized reports.

What you will learn

  • Update data using the spreadsheet upload feature.
  • Set baseline goals, and targets to plan energy improvements.
  • Create custom reporting templates.
  • Use the Sustainable Building Checklist.

This course is ideal for
