Heat INTEGRATION of Industrial Processes (HIIP)
Program overview
To assist with the challenges of controlling heat and reducing energy consumption in industrial processes, CIET offers the Heat Integration of Industrial Processes (HIIP) course. This course introduces participants to the tools to manage heat release and supply cold streams that require heat while also meeting process energy performance targets.
Over two and a half training days, participants gain a thorough understanding of optimizing heat transfer and improving energy efficiency in industrial operations. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical applications, they learn how to efficiently integrate heat transfer systems into industrial processes, resulting in reduced energy consumption, increased efficiency, and minimized environmental impacts. Additionally, they discuss the use of process integration software tools to preview and monitor heat usage.
What you’ll learn
- Use process integration principles to conduct energy analyses.
- Design projects to reduce energy use in and greenhouse gas emissions from industrial processes.
- Evaluate heat recovery projects.
- Improve equipment operating conditions through a comprehensive approach.
- Use the modules of the INTEGRATION software developed by CanmetENERGY.
This course is ideal for
- Engineers and professionals specialized in industrial energy efficiency
- Process design engineers
- Plant project managers
- Industrial energy consultants
You’ll walk away with
Access to the full version of the INTEGRATION software for Canadian participants only.
