Policy Matters: Energy Policy in Nova Scotia

September 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm ADT

Policy Matters is back with our first panel on Energy Policy in Nova Scotia: Offshore wind, oil crisis, and future technologies.

Welcome to Policy Matters! The mission of this speaker series is to amplify public policy discussions, present new research, encourage research-informed policy, and provide a forum for the broader community to engage with the critical questions that shape our world today. Tonight’s topic is Energy Policy in Nova Scotia: Offshore wind, oil crisis, and future technologies. We will be asking the question, “Is Nova Scotia prepared for the uncertain future of energy production?”

Join the MacEachen Institute at The PIER/Le CIPER, our generous platinum sponsor and Canada’s first living lab dedicated to the transportation, supply chain, and logistics industries. We are delighted to welcome our expert panelists:

  • Sven Scholtysik, Research Director, Net Zero Atlantic
  • Dragan Pecurica, Director, Energy and Risk Management, Nova Scotia Power
  • Christine Bonnell-Eisnor, CEO, Nova Scotia Canada Offshore Energy Regulator
  • Dr. Larry Hughes, Research Fellow, the MacEachen Institute

The event begins at 6 pm with a panel discussion moderated by MacEachen Institute Director Dr. Jerry Bannister, followed by an audience Q&A. Stay after the discussion for a wine and cheese reception, sponsored by Benjamin Bridge Winery and the Ocean Frontier Institute, to celebrate the launch of this year’s series.
