Toronto Meeting on the Economics of Climate Change

June 24 - June 26

The 2026 Toronto Meeting on the Economics of Climate Change (TMEC) will take place from June 24-26, 2026 at the University of Toronto.

The meeting provides a forum for scholars from economics and other fields whose work concerns the economics of climate change.

The organizing committee are Stephan HeblichChristoph Semken, and Jeffrey Sun.

TMEC provides a stable forum for researchers at the intersection of economics and climate change. Continued opportunities for recognition and collaboration are indispensable to the advancement of our understanding of the economic aspects of climate impacts and policies.

The conference will feature keynote addresses by Solomon Hsiang (Stanford University) and Joseph S. Shapiro (UC Berkeley) in addition to approximately 45 presentations of current work by leading scholars. TMEC is held in a fully plenary format, with no parallel sessions.

Opening Symposium

The TMEC Opening Symposium will take place from 9:00am-1:00pm on Wednesday, June 24, at EY Tower (100 Adelaide St W) in downtown Toronto.

This is a larger event which brings together policymakers, industry professionals, NGOs, and academics to share their expertise and discuss the most pressing climate-related challenges currently facing Canada and the world.
