OAA Conference 2024: Housing – Pushing the Envelope

The next edition of the OAA Conference will reflect the urgency and importance of addressing housing challenges in our society. With the recent recognition of adequate housing as a human right through the National Housing Strategy Act, the 2024 OAA Conference aims to bring together a diverse range of architecture experts and professionals. Against the backdrop of Niagara Falls, attendees will delve into innovative ideas and solutions to design safe, inclusive, and sustainable spaces that foster community, health, and well-being. GENERATE is an annual conference hosted by Clean Energy BC. This two-day conference + trade show is attended by industry professionals, project developers, suppliers, operators, policy designers, innovators, First Nations and academics. As a signature event, GENERATE has run for 20 years and features a dynamic exhibitor hall, plenary sessions on cutting-edge topics, a keynote luncheon, an industry awards presentation and networking opportunities with the industry’s top experts on the trade show floor. The Call for Power, and ongoing commitment from Premier Eby, Minister Osborne and BC Hydro for subsequent calls has generated sustainable momentum for our industry. The 4th Annual Retrofit Canada Conference will be in Vancouver on 12-13 June. As per the rest of the series, the event will continue to focus on industry updates, challenges, opportunities, best practices, and lessons learned across Canada's retrofit community. Next year's event's theme is Decarbonizing and adapting existing homes and buildings to ensure equity and climate resilience. We will explore the many aspects of this theme throughout the two days, including the crucial elements of diversity and inclusion.
