Workshop 1: Future-Proofing Home Retrofit Programs: Navigating Uncertainty and Building Resilient Businesses Location: Beanfield Centre | Cost: CA$400 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Registration, Refreshments and Networking 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Workshop Facilitation Calling all contractors, wholesalers, policy designers and decision-makers! Meeting these uncertain times, this workshop will help participants future-proof businesses by: Equipping participants with strategies to inform, develop and deliver retrofit programs that resonate in a policy environment focused on affordability, good-jobs, middle class wealth creation and beneficial electrification while still striving for net-zero. Addressing fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) about policy and program design by unpacking challenges from the field and providing practical tools to adapt to political change. Building constructive, direct relationships between program designers and the people doing the work, leading to better alignment of incentive programs, reducing risks of unintended consequences, and ensuring program relevance. The final workshop will provide information on how staff can explore the advancement of adoption and implementation of the by-law in their municipalities. You will hear from municipal staff about the communication strategies and messaging used to support implementation and the roles of external stakeholders (such as PHUs, social housing providers, etc.) in building heat resilience.
