This course, conducted by our expert professionals at BER, is a comprehensive training program that equips you with the necessary knowledge, skills, and practical experience to conduct air-tightness testing on residential buildings. With a blend of theory and practical demonstrations, this course will teach you how to conduct air and duct leakage tests, as well as ventilation testing to diagnose air leakage and ventilation balancing issues within residential buildings and produce diagnostic air leakage reports.
The ATT Certification course is broken down into two key sections:
- Air Tightness Technician Fundamentals Training: Two days of in-classroom instruction and demonstrations.
- ATT Field Mentorship: Three field mentored testing exercises for real-world experience.
Upon completion of the course, you’ll be able to:

- Reference the current codes and standards in your region pertaining to air tightness and ventilation systems.
- Use blower door testing equipment to conduct single point and multipoint air tightness tests.
- Set up and use duct testing equipment for leakage tests.
- Correctly use ventilation testing equipment, including exhaust fan flow meters, air flow meters, and direct pressure ports in HRV/ERV Systems.
- Review, interpret, and report the test results to customers and for code compliance.
