Having learned the basic functionalities and how to navigate the ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager (ESPM) in the first workshop, this second workshop in the series provides participants with the information and training needed to use and update data and information on their own buildings into the tool. Participants also learn how to use the Data Quality Checker that serves to run a set of basic data checks on properties to help identify possible data entry errors and determine whether their buildings differ from typical operational patterns. It also alerts users to both warnings and information errors that might have been inputted.
Portfolio Manager is a management tool designed to measure and assess the energy performance of commercial and institutional buildings. Over the years, the Portfolio Manager tool has grown in popularity and use because it allows users to understand whole building energy uses and costs (including water and other materials), compare theirs with other buildings (using a scoring system), set building baselines and targets, track the impacts of reduction strategies, and produce custom reports.
