Thermal Bridging Training Course Description Two hours, in person
This training course offers an introduction to thermal bridging and its significance in building performance and energy code requirements associated with it. WSP Canada will deliver this training by explaining the fundamentals of thermal bridging, including common terminology, identifying occurrences in building envelope detailing, and teaching methods to evaluate their impact to the overall thermal performance. The course outlines requirements in the latest version of the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB 2020) related to thermal performance and focuses on the four compliance pathways to achieve requirements. The course introduces several examples and tutorials using different tools to calculate thermal performance values, and sample submittals to demonstrate compliance. At the end of this course, participants will be able to understand how to perform a thermal bridging analysis on a building, how to choose the best compliance path and how to demonstrate the compliance to the energy code requirements..
