Diversity, equity, and inclusion
Diversity, equity, and inclusion is integral to building Canada’s green economy. Businesses, consulting services, utilities and renewables have identified the need for recruiting more women, Indigenous people, racialized Canadians, youth, and LGBTQ+ people to the workforce. 200,000 new energy efficiency jobs will be created by 2030. Therefore, making our workforce more inclusive will help create a more robust market where no one is left behind.
Efficiency Canada recently conducted a survey that was targeted to employers in both the private and public sectors who are actively recruiting for energy efficiency jobs.
The result of this survey helps us anchor more skilled Canadians in meaningful and long-standing careers.
Check out our recommendations on how to build workforce capacity within the clean energy sector.
