The CMPX Show, held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, South Building is one of North America's largest trade shows for the Mechanical and Plumbing industry. Efficiency Canada's Abhilash Kantamneni will appear on March 20th with a presentation on "HVAC Contractors as Climate Champions". Canada’s climate policies for homes are focused on providing rebates and incentives to homeowners. However for contractors, stop-start inventive programs can be disruptive, create uncertainty and hurt business practices. Using results from a research project conducted by Efficiency Canada, this interactive seminar presents a case for why it is time to consider business support policies for residential HVAC/R sector. We will explore a mix of contractor-oriented policies – drawn from other countries and compiled with inputs from Canadian HVAC/R businesses - that can support and sustain business models that offer higher profit margins, more balanced workloads, and good jobs while also decarbonizing homes more quickly. Buildgreen Atlantic, Presented by Ashrae Halifax Chapter, is a Conference, Trade Show and Networking Event that Advances the Design, Construction, and Operation of Greener Buildings in Atlantic Canada. BuildGreen Atlantic will be held in Halifax on March 26 & 27, 2024. The 26th will offer Pre-Conference Workshops and Building Tours of local high-performance facilities and will wrap up with an Opening Reception for delegates, sponsors, speakers, and guests. The 27th focuses on the Conference and Tradeshow at the Halifax Convention Centre. Both days will attract the green building sector, including building owners, architects, engineers, designers, materials manufacturers, trade professionals, policymakers and students.  The conference content is relevant to residential and ICI sectors and will highlight new construction and retrofits.

On April 17 and 18, 2024, the Building Decarbonization Alliance is bringing together industry experts, construction professionals, civil society representatives, government officials, Indigenous leaders, and others to explore the most promising pathways to achieve net zero through building electrification. The National Building Decarbonization Forum: Pathways to Electrification will unpack the challenges and opportunities in the net-zero transition, and develop a shared vision for action through engaging discussions, information exchange, and opportunities to connect with other professionals committed to moving Canada's building sector towards its emissions goals.

The Alberta Energy Efficiency Alliance (AEEA) and the Smart Sustainable Resilient Infrastructure Association (SSRIA) are partners in bringing together over 200 leaders for the province’s largest two-day conference, dedicated to advancing the adoption of energy efficiency and innovative solutions to reduce the carbon footprint of the buildings sector. This year’s Summit will provide attendees with a forum to collaborate, learn, network, and gain insight into the latest trends in energy efficiency deployment, and innovative technology, products and processes for buildings of all types. How buildings and the utility system interact will also be prominently featured throughout the Summit.
