The Challenge – Downsview Park Bridge
This year, Northcrest Developments has provided the unique challenge to explore beyond the scope of a building and into the design of a space and structure that will nurture connectivity and community.
The Downsview Park Bridge is a link between Downsview Park and the District, connecting people to amenities through a corridor that becomes a signature destination in and of itself.
Teams are tasked with proposing and describing an innovative approach to the bridge design, construction, activation/programming and/or adjacent uses that advances the bridge concept, and reflects the Downsview Developments responsible development pillars: Climate Leadership, City-Nature, Sustainable Urban Mobility, Inclusive Prosperity, Quality of Place.
Subject Matter Experts/Advisors will provide inspiration, knowledge, and mentorship to aid the teams in this challenge.
The teams are to work within or around the constraints provided and create a 5-minute presentation that will be judged to win cash prizes to be split between the members!
Prizes:
1st Place – $600
2nd Place – $300
3rd Place – $150
Hosted in collaboration with the ASHRAE TMU Student Branch, Northcrest Developments and CAGBC.
